It began well over two decades ago in the small town of Gua save on Mexico’s Pacific Coast. The year was 1975, and Juan Francisco Pancho Ochoa opened his first roadside chicken stand. He named it El Pollo Loco, pronounced L-Po-yo Lo-co and Spanish for The Crazy Chicken.
