Don's third book, Route 66 On Tour: Legendary Architecture from Glenrio To Gallup, was followed closely by his collection of folk tales told by his grandmother, Benigna's Chimayó: Cuentos from the Old Plaza. Along the way, he also published stories and accompanying photographs in magazines such as El Palacio and New Mexico, and his photographs appeared in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times and in other national publications. Through the years, his work began to take on its distinctive style: clearly stated, evocative writing combined with striking black-and-white portraits and color landscapes. After Don moved to Santa Fe in 2003, he edited A History of Estaca, New Mexico: Plaza at An Ancient Crossroads, published by Vecinos del Rio in 2003. He worked with Ambassador Frank V. Nathan McCreery began his photographic career while in art school. My major was commercial art with an emphasis in graphic design. As a part of my course of study I was required to take a course in photography. When that first image appeared, as if by magic, I was hooked. From that moment on I knew my destiny was set. I received my first camera while in Elementary School, a Brownie Box Camera and I have been clicking away since. I became serious about photography during my career as an International Flight Attendant and honed my skill with natural light all over the world. While I lived in The Bahamas I transitioned to wedding photography easily because of my comfort with natural light. I relocated my business when I moved to the beautiful Sacramento Mountains of southern New Mexico. I work on location specializing in natural light photography but have the ability to set up studio lighting anywhere it is needed.
