Artist, Nina Brandin, lives and works in Boulder, colorado. She started silversmithing while still attending Lexington High School in Massachusetts. After graduating, she studied at The North Bennett Street School in Boston's historic North End. The Jewelry Making and Repair program focuses on craftsmanship, teaching students how to create fine jewelry with excellence in all details. The program extends 16 months for eight hours a day of intense technical training and vers metal forming techniques, faceted and cabochon stone setting, and all types of repairs luding chain repairs and ring sizings. The Ringmaker is a unique jewelry store and factory located in Boulder, colorado on the west side of 30th Street between Valmont and Pearl streets. The Ringmaker is the wholesale to the public division of the Ring Specialty company. When we relocated our factory from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Boulder, lorado in August of 1992, we opened our first, direct to the public store in east Boulder. Sather's Jewelers was first established in 1916 by Sigurd Ludwig (S.L.) Sather. The first location was in Duluth, Minnesota, his brother, Art Sather, opened a store in Spooner, Wisnsin. In 1930, S.L. Sather moved his family to a small town on the western slope of colorado, Craig. Here S.L. opened another jewelry store. S.L. had four sons whom he assisted in opening their own jewelry stores in Utah, Wyoming, and lorado. His son, Howard, received the store in Craig. Upon Howard's death in 1965, his son, Sid, inherited this store. In 1987, Sid opened the current store in Fort collins, colorado as a branch to the Craig store. Sid and his two daughters now run the operation as well as his grandsons who are now the fifth generation to be involved in the Sather's legacy of jewelers.
