Allan was born in 1952 in the Bronx, New York. He graduated from Music and Art High School at the age of sixteen. After graduating from City College of New York, he attended the Manhattan School of Music on a full scholarship, specializing in classical trumpet and orchestration. He received a Mater's Degree and continued his career as a free-lance trumpet player in the greater New York area. Freilich Jewelers is currently the first jewelry store in the Bronx and Westchester to have a Rofin Laser welder. This allows them to handle all types of custom jewelry work, precious stone antiques, and eye glass repair. Allan has followed in his father's footsteps as vice-president of the Consolidated Jewelers Association of Greater New York.
