The Moravian Book Shop, the oldest bookstore in the world, was founded in 1745 when the Moravian Church appointed Samuel Powell of the Church's Crown Inn on the South Side of the Lehigh River to operate a book store. After several locations, the Moravian Book Shop was moved to the church's publications building near the Central Moravian Church in 1871. I've been told it's a 15th century Indian method of decorating pottery, having been discovered by an Indian maiden as she took hot pots out of the firing pit, and burned her hair on it. We've taken it a step further, by using the method on a lot of decorator pieces. Pierre began training in his chosen field, the Swiss way of chocolate making, in his home town of Zug, Switzerland under the tutelage of his father, Leo. He then apprenticed with a famous Konditorei in the northern town of Schaffhausen on the Rhein River while attending classes in the Gewerbe Schule. At the end of his three year apprenticeship he took an exam overseen by the Swiss Confectionary Association and finished first out of 150 students.
